Transportation at Alice Springs Airport
If there are no taxis available outside the airport, you can call one on (08) 8952 1877 for Alice Springs Taxis, or (08) 8953 3322 for Territory Taxis. A fare into the central city from the airport will cost $30-$40.
Car Rental in the Terminals
Alice Springs is the perfect place from which to explore the outback, and many visitors rent cars so they are mobile. The car rental counters in the terminal can be found landside near the exit/entry doors. Car rental companies with counters in-terminal include AVIS, Budget, Europcar, Hertz and Thrifty. Other car rental companies are likely to have options for a meet and greet service or free pickups from the airport, so ask before you book if you want to try a smaller or local car rental. Great deals on most car rental suppliers in Alice Springs can be found here: www.alicespringsairportcarhire.com.au.
Bus and Shuttle Services
Alice Wanderer Airport Transfers is the only shuttle service available to and from the Alice Springs Airport. It meets every arriving flight and can transfer you directly to accommodation in the city centre. You can book pick ups from your accomodation to transfer you to the airport also, online at www.alicewanderer.com.au or by calling 1800 722 111. One-way fares are $15.
The airport is located on Santa Teresa Road, which connects to the famous Stuart Highway. Leaving the Terminals on Halsey Drive, turn left onto Santa Teresa Road/Roger Vale Road, following signs to Alice Springs. Continue straight on to the Stuart Highway to head into the central city area and north, or turn left onto the highway to head south into the outback.
